I did it!

I did it. It is over.  I have run a marathon. I can check that off my list. Despite the heat, it was a great race.  However, I can never drink lemon-lime gatorade again.

I am thankful for my body for being healthy and my mind for being strong.

Special thank you to Lesley, my friend and training partner--without her, I don't think I would have done it.  Dr. Barron, my chiropractor for keeping me healthy.  My husband and children for putting up with all the training runs and naps I needed to take.  And all of my family and friends for the encouragement to keep me motivated!

It was an amazing--once in a lifetime experience.

Mile 15

Our good friends, Carrie and Mark, cheering us on!

After 4 hours and 45 minutes of running, I crossed the finish line!

I am officially closing up shop until Tuesday, October 12th.  I will be accomplishing something I always said was not possible.  "I can't run.  I can't run that far.  I don't have the time to train.  I have a bad back.  My kids are too young."  Well, this sunday, 10-10-10, I will be running my first marathon.  26.2 miles...  and I can't wait!!  stay tuned...
