My friend, Stephanie, and I took a trip to Cape Cod so I could do a little work (will post those soon). We spent a day on the island of Nantucket, exploring on our mopeds, found a foot trail along the coast, saw the 2nd oldest lighthouse in the U.S., and all of the immaculately landscaped-wood shingled homes in Siasconset.
A few years ago, I was introduced and fell in love with Campbell, a 13 year old photographer from Oklahoma. We have been planning to shoot together since we met and it finally happened. We called Evie, a local teen model, for our retro roller skating themed photo shoot in the Grove. Campbell's talent is simply incredible and I can't wait to see where she goes. You are a shining star, Campbell, with a heart of gold. xoxoxo!
You can follow her @CampbellFrancesPhoto on Instagram.
Here are a few of Campbell's photos. SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!
And can we talk about how amazing Evie is!!! Follow her @evie_theodorou on Instagram.

Every other week I get to work with PAISLEY BOUTIQUE and model KILEY KOZEL. Stacie, the owner of Paisley, allows me to do my thing and photograph her clothing in my own style. When the 3 of us work together it is MAGIC. Here are a few pics from our last shoot.
Yesterday I, along with 10 other local professional photographers, volunteers, and staff, had our annual SHOOT FOR SEAMUS event at St. Louis Children's Hospital. Every year this is one of my favorite events and reminds me why I love being a photographer so much. High School friend, Sharon Johnston and her husband, Tom, lost their sweet baby boy, Seamus 9 years ago. Each year on the anniversary of his passing they bring lots of love to the NICU where Seamus spent 8 weeks after his premature birth. I am beyond grateful to be a part of this day. We photograph every baby and their familes in the NICU so they have precious memories and have a real first photo shoot. Tiny Super Heroes also donated capes for these mighty little ones. Here are some of the images from this special day. xo
One of my goals for the year is to push myself out of my comfort zone. Try new things. Be creative more often. Surround myself with creative, inspiring people. So this weekend I grabbed Emily (who is 15 and is my good friend Rebecca's daughter) . and headed to our local Michaels Arts and Crafts store. There is a challenge going around social media called #michaelschallenge--encouraging photographers to shoot good photos in poor locations. So we did it. And on the way home we stopped under a bridge, at a car wash and a Kentucky Fried Chicken. I shot these for myself, for fun, for practice, for a challenge. ENJOY!
THANKS FOR STOPPING BY. ~ heidi

I was recently hired by Spire Energy (formerly Laclede Gas). My job was to bring their brand to life. Here is a small sampling of the images from our 3 day photo shoot. Thank you to Spire for the opportunity, Becky McFarland (stylist), Vanessa Devonne (make up), Susan Haviluck (producer), and all my models and friends to help me accomplish this!!
Want to know how to make Christmas tree heart bokeh? Follow the easy, homemade way to create your own.
Chose a wide aperture (small number such as 1.8, 2.0, 2.8) and set your camera to manual focus. Point the camera to the tree (further away is better) and instead of focusing on the tree, turn your focal ring until the tree is out of focus. This is what you will get.
And this is what happens without the paper on the lens.
Christmas Light Bokeh!
Would love to see what you create!
I was just mowing the grass (on Mother's Day) and ran out of gas with only a small square left in the backyard. Instead of going to buy more gas, I poured myself a glass of wine and said screw it. It also got me thinking about all the SINGLE MOM's out there! I appreciate you. I get it. You deserve something a little extra special today.
I am going to giveaway a FREE photo shoot to one single Mom. Use it towards pictures of your kids, a Flirt Session for yourself, or give it to a friend who deserves it. Here are the rules:
1. Like my facebook page
2. In the comment section type "ME" or the name of a Single Mother you would like to nominate BY NOON ON MAY 9th.
3. Tomorrow I will draw a name using a random name picker.
4. I will announce the lucky ladies name by 6:00pm tomorrow night.
Happy Mother's Day!
AND THE WINNER IS!!! Samantha S. ! Congratulations and Happy Mother's Day!
